Rejuvenate Your Face With a Surgery-Free Vampire Facelift

Dr. Lakshmi Palakurthi, Star Laser, Surgery-Free Vampire Facelift

The cosmetic market is flooded with anti-aging products and services — in fact, if you do an Internet search for the word “anti-aging,” you get more than 300 million results in less than a second.

In an effort to help you sort through the clutter — and save you considerable time and expense — we’ve done our research with a trained medical eye to bring you products and services that truly work. And we’re particularly excited about what’s known as the Vampire Facelift®, which taps your body’s own resources to turn back the hands of time.

At Star Laser, our goal is to provide our clients in Troy, Michigan, with safe and effective alternatives to surgical cosmetic solutions. Heading up this effort is Dr. Lakshmi Palakurthi, who believes that beauty should be natural and come from within. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Palakurthi understands what works with your body in order to bring out the best in your skin.

And the Vampire Facelift accomplishes just that by calling upon your body’s own growth factors and proteins through platelet-rich plasma to breathe new life into aging skin.

Here’s a look at how you can rejuvenate your face with a surgery-free Vampire Facelift.

The power of platelets

As we mentioned above, at the heart of the Vampire Facelift is our use of your own platelets to help rebuild and renew your skin. Your blood contains four ingredients — red and white blood cells, platelets, and plasma to carry it all. While your platelets serve a primary role in clotting your blood, they’re also integral in healing because they contain hundreds of proteins, or growth factors.

These growth factors are critical for cell rebuilding, regeneration, and signaling. What we mean by this last one — signaling — is that growth factors act as transmitters and call upon other resources in your body. As a result, other resources, such as stem cells, arrive to help in the rebuilding and repair of your tissue.

Platelets also encourage fibroblasts, which are cells that govern the extracellular matrix and collagen in connective tissue, like your skin. And collagen is exactly what aging skin needs.

The collagen factor

Your skin contains two proteins — collagen and elastin — which are responsible for the elasticity and tone in your skin. As you get older, your collagen production naturally begins to wane, leaving your skin considerably less firm as the years go by. For women who pass through menopause, this loss is particularly pronounced.

So when we come across an anti-aging technique that stimulates collagen production, we sit up and take notice.

Enter the vampire

Now let’s take a look at how the Vampire Facelift brings all of this science together.

When you come in, we take a sample of your own blood and put it into a centrifuge to separate out your platelets. This process allows us to make a concentrate of platelets that’s 5-10 times higher than normal. After we mix this concentrate back into your plasma, we inject the formula into the skin on your face.

When we’re through, we step back and let Mother Nature take over. That’s it. There’s no surgery and no downtime. With the introduction of these platelets, your body sets to work in a healing and regenerative mode and rebuilds your skin from the inside out.

After about 6-12 weeks, your skin will look fresh and vibrant, allowing your outsides to better align with your more youthful spirit on the inside.
